# Vital Care Finder > Vital Care Finder (vit.al) helps people in the US find a doctor. It ranks providers on cost, quality and the measured health of the patients they already see (drawn from 20M+ real clinical visits) rather than on advertising spend or star ratings alone. Search is free and needs no account. Search results live at https://vit.al/us/{state}/{place}/{specialty}, for example https://vit.al/us/tx/houston/dermatologist. {state} is the lowercase two-letter USPS code; {place} is the lowercase city or town name with spaces as single hyphens, as in fort-worth; {specialty} is one of the slugs listed below. All three must be spelled exactly that way: the route serves one canonical URL per search and 404s on any other spelling. The older single-segment location forms 301 rather than 404: https://vit.al/us/houston--tx--77002/dermatologist lands on the canonical URL above, and the bare-ZIP https://vit.al/us/zip-77002, which names no specialty, lands on that place's hub at https://vit.al/us/tx/houston. Above those results sit three tiers of hub, each listed in the sitemap: https://vit.al/us links to a page per state; https://vit.al/us/{state} lists every city and town in that state that has providers; and https://vit.al/us/{state}/{place} lists that place's providers across all specialties. The 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico can therefore be walked down to a result without guessing a slug. Individual providers live at https://vit.al/us/provider/npi-{npi}-{name}, keyed by the provider's 10-digit National Provider Identifier; the trailing name is decorative and may be omitted. These pages are generated per provider and are listed in the sitemap index alongside the search pages. Specialties: Cardiologist (cardiologist), Dentist (dentist), Dermatologist (dermatologist), ENT Specialist (ent), Gastroenterologist (gastroenterologist), Neurologist (neurologist), OB-GYN (obgyn), Ophthalmologist (ophthalmologist), Orthopedic Surgeon (orthopedic-surgeon), Primary Care Provider (primary-care-provider), Psychiatrist (psychiatrist), Urologist (urologist).
