Dr. Katharine Anne Phillips is a psychiatrist based in Providence, Rhode Island, board certified in Psychiatry. She is a Professor of Psychiatry and DeWitt Wallace Senior Scholar at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she also serves as Residency Research Director. Dr. Phillips has spent her career treating patients, teaching, and conducting research on body dysmorphic disorder and other psychiatric conditions.
Her work on body dysmorphic disorder has been continuously funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, and she has developed and tested both medication and therapy treatments for the disorder. She is an elected Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and she serves on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and the International OCD Foundation. Dr. Phillips has published more than 380 scientific articles and book chapters, and has written or edited 11 books on body dysmorphic disorder and related topics. She speaks English.
