Dr. Ivan Stangel, DMD, is a general dentist in Washington, District of Columbia, practicing at Accompany Medical Group of Colorado and Brandywine Dental Care. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, he spent much of his career in academics at McGill University as a teacher, researcher, and clinician, where he worked on developing new materials that bond white filling materials to teeth—one of which has been commercialized. He came to the Washington area via a sabbatical leave at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and chose to remain.
Dr. Stangel specializes in restorative dentistry and applies his knowledge of dental materials to his practice, offering procedures including cavity fillings, cleanings, crowns, implants, root canals, teeth whitening, tooth extractions, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and periodontal treatments.
