Dr. Luis Carlos De Carvalho Paixao is a neurologist based in Miami, Florida, board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and an Attending Neurologist at Weill Medical College of Cornell, where he specializes in Vascular Neurology. Dr. Paixao earned his bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from University College London and his medical degree and master's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford. He completed his residency in Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a clinical fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His research focuses on the development of targeted therapies in stroke and brain health. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, and serves as a Section Editor for the Stroke Alert Podcast published by the American Heart Association.
