About
Dr. Jim Way Cheung is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist in New York, board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He trained at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School, and practices at Weill Medical College of Cornell.
Dr. Cheung treats patients with heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation, palpitations, syncope and cardiomyopathy, as well as those with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators. His procedures include arrhythmia ablation, electrophysiology studies, cardiac device evaluation and adjustment, and cardiac device insertion and replacement. He specializes in personalized treatment of atrial fibrillation using catheter ablation and innovative low-radiation techniques, catheter ablation of ventricular arrhythmias with robotic magnetic navigation, and cardiac device implantation with emphasis on advanced pacing therapies. As Director of Clinical Electrophysiology Research at Weill Cornell Medicine, Dr. Cheung leads clinical trials on novel ablation and device therapies and conducts research on arrhythmia mechanisms, genetics and real-world outcomes of heart rhythm treatments. He speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
