Dr. Peter Michael Marzuk is a psychiatrist in New York, New York, board certified in Psychiatry. He received his Sc.B. in physical chemistry from Brown University and his M.D. from Columbia University, completing residency training in medicine and psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and The New York Hospital-Payne Whitney Clinic. His research focuses on suicide, homicide, violence, substance abuse and mood disorders, with an emphasis on identifying epidemiological, clinical, neuropsychological and neurobiological predictors of suicidal behavior and violence toward prevention at both individual and population-based levels. He has served as Vice Chair of the Scientific Council of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and chaired its Research Grants Committee. Dr. Marzuk also conducts research in medical education and currently teaches Weill-Cornell students psychopathology, neuropsychopharmacology and suicide risk assessment. He speaks English.
