Dr. James E Ip is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist in New York, board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He trained at Harvard University—Harvard Medical School and completed his fellowships at Cornell University Medical Center, where he now serves as a full professor and director of cardiac pacing and implantable devices at Weill Medical College of Cornell, Greenberg Division of Cardiology.

Dr. Ip specializes in heart rhythm care and treats patients with atrial fibrillation, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, syncope and other arrhythmias, as well as those with implanted cardiac devices. His procedures include cardiac device evaluation and adjustment, insertion and replacement of pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, electrocardiograms and transthoracic echocardiograms. He has performed thousands of procedures including catheter ablations and implantations of advanced devices such as subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillators and leadless cardiac pacemakers. Dr. Ip maintains an active research program in arrhythmia mechanisms and serves as principal investigator at Cornell for multiple multicenter trials evaluating novel cardiac devices and therapies. He speaks English.
