Dr. Nisha J Bunke, MD, is a board-certified venous disease specialist in La Jolla, California, and Medical Director and founder of La Jolla Vein Care. She was the first physician in the United States to complete fellowship training supported by the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and holds diplomate status with the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
Dr. Bunke specializes in minimally invasive outpatient procedures for treating venous conditions including chronic venous insufficiency, deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins, spider veins and venous leg ulcers. Her procedures include Clarivein, foam sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, Varithena/Chemical ablation and Venaseal closure, among others. She serves as a Volunteer Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and has authored and co-edited the second edition of the Vein Book published by Oxford University Press. Dr. Bunke practices at LA Jolla Vein Care, Scripps Memorial Hospital la Jolla and La Jolla Vein & Vascular, and speaks English and Spanish.
